PBSmon is abbreviation of "PBS monitor", where PBS is Portable Batch System, the software used in MetaCentrum for scheduling of computational jobs.
PBSmon is a web application that displays the state of MetaCentrum computational resources. Namely:
- PBS servers, currently 3: meta-pbs.metacentrum.cz, cerit-pbs.cerit-sc.cz and elixir-pbs.elixir-czech.cz
- queues of jobs
- jobs
- users
- PBS nodes - instances of PBS MOM (Machine Oriented Mini-server) software on each computing machine, either virtual or physical
- physical machines
- storages
- hardware - clusters of physical machines or large SMP machines
- cloud - virtual machines in OpenStack, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud
Access rules
Access to PBSmon is authenticated and authorized using the e-INFRA CZ AAI (Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure) which authorizes access only for authenticated members of the virtual organizations "MetaCentrum" and "Provoz MetaCentra".
Users can see metadata of other users' jobs (e.g. job's name, usage of resources) and other users' names, affiliations and their agregate usage of MetaCentrum's resources.
