MSC.MARC made by MSC.Software company is program system based on finite element method and serves for solving large linear and non linear (physical and geometrically), structural, thermal, thermal-mechanical, electromagmetic and acoustic jobs. Program is highly appreciated for application in impulse phenomenon area and large deformation problem.


Product is licenced for students and employees of ZČU in Plzeň. There are pool 6 flowing licences available and another 24 licences for use another processors during parallel computings. fluent 30 licences most, gambit 10 licences most, trigrid 30 licences most, fidap 2 licences most. Number of licences, which are temporary available for use to run PBS job you can find with typping command "qfree -i".


Upcoming modulesystem change alert!

Due to large number of applications and their versions it is not practical to keep them explicitly listed at our wiki pages. Therefore an upgrade of modulefiles is underway. A feature of this upgrade will be the existence of default module for every application. This default choice does not need version number and it will load some (usually latest) version.

You can test the new version now by adding a line

source /cvmfs/

to your script before loading a module. Then, you can list all versions of marc and load default version of marc as

module avail marc/ # list available modules
module load marc   # load (default) module

If you wish to keep up to the current system, it is still possible. Simply list all modules by

module avail marc

and choose explicit version you want to use.

MSC.MARC can be run in MetaCentrum enviroment after connecting particular module by command "marc-2017". Computing enviroment of MetaCentrum serves primary for proceeding sophisticated computings (preprocessing and postprocesing can run in the user workstation). Several use cases with MSC.MARC ilustrate commneted scripts for PBS.(Section is under construction.
